Job Description: As a construction lead you will work alongside the owners and general contractors to help execute multiple remodel projects at once. To start you will work alongside our general contractor learning the business and in short order you’ll be able to manage multiple projects alongside- helping not only with the work yourself but also with the coordinating of sub-contractors, leading construction apprentices and communicating with the home owners. Experience in all aspects of residential construction/remodeling including framing, drywall, electrical, plumbing, tile, flooring, trim and finish are beneficial. Basement finishing a plus. This is a great opportunity for someone to build their skill set and gain valuable experience in the field- as we grow our construction leads will develop into project managers, estimators and sales positions.
Skills/Experience Needed:Experience with residential construction/basement finishing/remodeling is a must. Familiarity with power tools and general construction required! We do not expect you to be an expert and can teach to fill in gaps but a general awareness of framing and construction is required. Expertise with any of the following is a plus:
Framing, general lumberCarpentry- trim/molding work, building mantles, barn doors, etc.
Light plumbing (sink/faucet setting, etc.)
Light electrical (light fixtures, etc.)
Flooring- installing all types
Drywall- hang, tape, mud texture
Physical ability- Our work is at times labor intensive physically- you need to be in physical condition to be able to lift, bend, carry, etc. and keep up while not endangering yourself or your crew. Safety is a must!
Willingness to learn- this is an ego free environment. We know not everyone is an expert in everything and would much rather have an employee be honest about what they need to learn than try to muscle through anything or assume they know. That’s how mistakes happen and people get hurt on the job. The best employees are those who can ask for help and guidance and want to learn/perfect new skills.
Reliability- employees must have reliable transportation, valid driver’s license and be on time.
Compensation: The construction lead role starts at $25-30/hr and is dependent on experience. We offer 2 weeks of PTO per year and paid holidays.
