Job Description: As a construction apprentice you will work alongside our experienced construction crew in all aspects of construction and learn along the way. To start you will primarily assist in the framing, demo, clean up and finish work on interior residential remodels and as you grow you’ll learn all aspects of residential remodeling including framing, drywall, electrical, plumbing, tile, flooring, trim and finish. This is a great opportunity for someone to build their skill set and gain valuable experience in the field.
Skills/Experience Needed: Familiarity with power tools and general construction is a must! We can teach you everything you need to know on the job but you need to have swung a hammer once or twice in your life and not be afraid to try new things. Skills you will grow into, preferred but not required:
Framing, general lumber
Carpentry- trim/molding work, building mantles, barn doors, etc.
Light plumbing (sink/faucet setting, etc.)
Light electrical (light fixtures, etc.)
Flooring- installing all types
Drywall- hang, tape, mud texture
Physical ability: You need to be in physical condition to be able to lift, bend, carry, etc. and keep up while not endangering yourself or your crew. Safety is a must!
Willingness to learn- this is an ego free environment. We know not everyone is an expert in everything and would much rather have an employee be honest about what they need to learn than try to muscle through anything or assume they know. That’s how mistakes happen and people get hurt on the job. The best employees as those who can ask for help and guidance and want to learn/perfect new skills.
Reliability- employees must have reliable transportation and be on time.
Compensation: This is an entry level role with a 90 day initial probationary period. After the first 90 days you are then eligible for a permanent position and benefits. Pay is dependent upon experience and skills assessment at the end of the first 90 days. We offer 2 weeks of PTO, health insurance and paid holidays.
How to apply: Please send your resume and any examples of your work to firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange an interview.
